Single sparrow making a summer |

It is only in Indian political, Judicial, legislative systems a single sparrow makes a summer. That one drunken driver of famous and rich family was found guilty and two foolish lawyers who are said to be involved in an effort to tamper with witnesses faced action and punishment.
We all fought tooth and nail to get, Justice Maliamat’s recommendations shelved so that Judges should not be allowed to cross examine the accused to find the truth. We were least bothered when a Member of Parliament admitted under oath before court that he received 50 lakhs for voting in parliament. He is accused of murdering his own secretary during a dispute in sharing the illegal remuneration, only to become a cabinet minister and then end up a Chief Minister of a state. Those of us involved in evaluating our justice system ought to hang our heads in shame instead of rejoicing over a single sparrow making a summer and our media getting the accolades for it.
