One of our fundamental rights gives the right to speak
or express oneself freely to one and all. If you
thought that this holds true, well its time for an eye
opener. This no longer seems to validate in todays time. A
Tamil actress khushboo recently in an interview to a
Tamil edition of India today stated that she finds no
harm in premarital sex and that women should know how
to protect themselves from HIV and AIDS if they choose
to opt for premarital sex. Well wrong move
darhling…for this is India where politicians are more
interested to cash on subjects like these rather than
concentrate on eradicating socio economic problems of
the country.A number of Tamil political parties and
women members of the dalit panthers of India (DPI)
have taken to the “cause of Tamil women” and have come
to the forefront and are already asking the actress to
apologize in front of the entire Tamil society even
though the actress have apologized to the parties.
Where is the so-called right to express ourselves
gone.guess it has taken a backseat in “ free and
democratic India”. All the poor actress did was to lay
her opinion in front of the people. Why should anyone
face the trauma and embarrassment in front of the
society when all one is doing is to simply say what
they feel. These parties should start looking at more
important problems of he country and stop being the
morale police for once!
