I have filing cabinets. I'm totally lost if I don't have a system ... I like to be able to find what I'm looking for, when I am looking for it. Otherwise I could forget that it exists ... I will pile file at my legal assistant position during the day in order of priority but then the go straight to the filing cabinet.

Over the last 15 yrs., in doing this if you miss a deadline, this was something you "had" to have a handle on other wise the attorney/firm of course, could get sued for malpractice so I don't pile file.

I organize everything so it cuts down on search time etc., since I know I'm forgetful everything gets a place so I can find it when I need it.
