Hi John, and everyone else :-)

I am a Network Marketing coach and I have a small portfolio of prospering companies that I am a rep for.

All of my present companies are prospering, and that hasn't always been the case, I've picked a lemon or two.

I truly hold that "If you throw dirt, you loose ground." So I am always reluctant to get into any specific company bashing. Although I am willing to share, privately any personal experience I have had with any company.

And besides opinions are opinions :-) There are companies out there doing business in ways that I never would, and that doesn't mean they are unethical or unsuccessful.
I absolutely LOVE buying new shoes and there are plenty of shoes I would never consider wearing, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with all those others.

Does the model of Network, or multi-level marketing work? Absolutely! (and by the way they are the same thing, exactly, I'm not sure what EMM is.)

Most people starting a NetWork Marketing Business fail. As a matter of fact most people starting any kind of business fail.

There are plenty of reasons for failing in MLM.
And in my opinion the reason most people fail in MLM is the same reason most people fail opening any kind of a business.

Inadequate research and the lack of a business plan.

My brother who is a smart and savvy contractor opened a retail store cause his wife and daughters were having to buy all their cheerleader things (his family and the area we live in are huge into competetive cheerleading) online.
They couldn't find a local store. Long story short, they were out of business within 3 months, a cool idea that they were all very excited about and all their friends thought it was a great idea. They did no formal research. They didn't have even the simplest business plan.

A restaurant opened around the corner from me, it too closed within 3 months. As it was closing I went in and asked the owner if everything was ok, seemed neighborly of me. I mean did someone die or get divorced, why were they closing so soon, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice. They had just run out of money. Nothing major unexpected, except not being in profit by the third month and no more money to pay the rent. It had cost them huge bucks to build the place out and buy all the fixtures, etc, etc.

Here's a guess no formal business plan.

I am adding an additional mlm to my portfolio.
I have in front of me an expense and income projection for the next 8 months showing me what my out-of-pocket expenses and income projections are according to four different scenarios.

I know that this company is solid, not based on just the testimony of the person I have selected to sponsor me. And by the way I know the person I have chosen to sponsor me very well, I know that her talents are a great balance and compliment to my own. I know that while we are of different religions we lead our lives on a spiritual foundation. I know that we will have great synergy working together. We are in the process of writing out a full partnership agreement. I know that I respect her and will learn a lot from her, and I know the feeling is mutual.

Oh and yes I love the product.

These are some of the elements I think are really really important for success in MLM or NetWork Marketing.
