Then the question would be: Is it that people are not aware of this situation, or what stops them from taking advantage of it? Lack of Knowledge? Lack of Courage? Both?
I can buy my own house here in China. Buy a car, go to the real nice restaurants and live basically like a king over here and have both the house and car fully paid within about 5 years. No sweat. And it only took me 3 years to get into the position I have now. I'm 24 now!
Then what will I be doing when I'm 30~~ You can just imagine :)
That's quite different from what the situation would be if I were to stay back in Sweden. My big brother (26 years old now) is still in Sweden. He rents an apartment. He's got a quite nice job at HP, but holy macarony, everything is so freakin expensive in the west! Basically the money he spend for renting an apartment for 3 years in Sweden would be enough for me to BUY an even better apartment here in China.
I think people are in their comfort-zone. They don't know about the reality of the situation. Perhaps they are stuck with something back at home. Girlfriend/boyfriend, grandparents, spouse, children, job (what kind of reason would job be anyway)... And of course stuck in their mind.
For I mean seriously. If life was a game, and the benefits were so obvious, who wouldn't go to the easiest place for the most benefit??
Well, dear folks. Go ahead and run the ratrace if ye want. Run with a smile. Cause if you don't, you'd better concider moving to China, haha :P
Cheers

> You make a good point, Hans. Most of us could retire quite a bit earlier if we were to move to countries where the cost of living is quite a bit lower than the US or Europe. Some places are quite intense, like most of the Asian countries. Others are quite laid back, like the Caribbean and Central America (and the latter are quite convenient for frequent trips back to the US). For Europeans, Greek islands can be an option.
