The premise of this network is very intriguing -- I'm already too late to retire young, but I'll settle for soon and wealthy!
I am an 'overqualified' programmer. After 27 years of writing software for a living, gray hair has impeded my ability to do that any more. One of my contract assignments was with a life insurance company, where I wrote quoting software, and took the LOMA courses to learn the history, operating principles, mathematics, and legal aspects of insurance. So, when I started finding it difficult to land decent contracts in software, I decided to get my insurance licenses and be an agent.
Unfortunately, there is a huge disconnect between knowing how the products work, and being able to make a living selling them. Different skills entirely. The first few years as an agent are pretty tough, and fewer than 50% of all new agents survive the first term of their licenses. Well, I just renewed my licenses, so I made the first cut!
To those MLM recruiters out there that consider Ryze the Happy Hunting Ground: If your MLM doesn't (or can't) sell real products at retail to non-member customers, don't bother sending me your pitch, because I'm not interested. Second, if your MLM charges more than $1/month for backoffice replicating websites or other sales tools, I'm not interested. Third, if your MLM uses any variation of a binary or forced matrix plan, I'm not interested.
As you might guess, I have studied MLMs at some length, and I have found that the vast majority of them are nothing more than thinly-disguised ponzi scams.
