Hi Celeste:
How this Amazon thing works is... you use other people's mailing lists. I was phoned by the George Harrison book promoter and emailed by Joe Rubino to ask if they could promote their offer to MY list.
In return, I got a mention on the Harrison book website (which won't get significant traffic until the book launch, by the way - and at that point, it'll get a bunch, which makes the trade worthwhile) and I was one of the free bonuses (with my affiliate links and coaching info) in the ebook I provided Rubino.
The Harrison book started with zero emails and ended up with multiple list owners and 300,000 on their mailing next week. The Geo Harrison promoter probably isn't sending any emails at all, except as reminders to those of us with lists. It's the other people's lists that will send the big traffic to your bonus page. Neat idea, huh?
Takes some legwork to line up your partners who will do your emailing for you and provide you with free bonuses to offer with the purchase of your book. But you also have a couple of things you can sweeten the pot with. In addition to a mention on your bonus page, how about a quickie ad with your daily nuggets? Or free classified ads in your Yahoo group emails during your book promotion period?
Just want to make sure the folks you're JVing with are somehow related to what you're offering, so your clients won't wonder what's up.
I would imagine there are people here on Ryze you could JV with.
Happy marketing! Barbara
