Gilbert,

I am a user of the software David Norcross recommends for Customer Relations Management. I use !ntellect. But, not just for Customer Relations Management. I use it for email marketing as well. It is truly an amazing software product - especially when you consider all it can do and the price. In fact, I had David on my talk show just yesterday, Sept. 15th, talking about it. You can hear what David had to say by going to Power Networking.

With regard to the number of "touches" required to turn a prospect into a paying customer, I do not have any figures. I have heard it takes around seven postcards to initiate a contact from any one individual. I have no idea as to the validity of that statistic. However, I advocate pursuing "niche markets." That is to say, go after the customers that can do your business the most good. If you simply "advertise to the whole world, no one is likely to pay attention to what you have to say or equally bad the wrong people will pay attention and end up wasting your valuable time. What makes the more sense is to plan your marketing strategy - even consider outsourcing to third party rather than doing it in-house - to garner the best customers possible for your business. Remember, take the fishing analogy to its highest level. While it is better to teach a person how to fish than simply give him a fish. Finding fish is not the ultimate goal of a good fisherman. The ultimate goal of a fisherman is selling what gets caught.

Finally, I want to publicly thank you for commenting on my online lens. I really appreciate the kind words.
