Lamar,
Since you are a PR guy, you should contact Morgado and see what plans he has for PR. It may turn lucrative for you.
Most inventors like him don't have a clue how to get their product into the market. So they hire a VP and they might get ripped off. He might need lessons from Martha Steward.
If he can perfect a manufacturing plan that can compete with foreign makers, have standardized packaging that allows adaptation to major car / truck models and franchises that will do the work correctly for a reasonable price, then he may have a chance in getting into the used car engine replacement business. I think the used vehicles out number new ones and are being driven many more years than expected. Ten years for a car seems so little nowadays.
What if you could get an engine transplant for $3k -$5k that made your car last another 10 years or more? It's certainly a cheaper price than a new car at $30k or more.
The BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) has a program to buy your old vehicle for $1k if it can't pass the smog test; maybe there is a way to get a discount in getting a MYT engine in the smog producing cars so that they run efficient and w/o pollutants being emitted. A way to use the BAR to coordinate and inspect the job so it gets done right. It seems better than to feed the salvage yards.
For new cars, like my gen 3 Prius hybrid, I'd like to see a more compact, high mpg efficient, lighter weight, higher torque throughout RPM range, longer service interval (10k -15k miles), wider temperature range, etc. Thus paving a way to a PHEV that can easily get 100+ mpg.
Ron
