One of the eras of politics that fascinates, as well as revolts me, is the McCarthy era.
I was watching a very well done documentary "A Father and Son" the other day directed by Lee Grant on Kirk and Michael Douglas. It was pointed out that the senior Mr. Douglas broke the blacklist by crediting black listed Dalton Trumbo as screen writer in the face of strong objections by director Kubrick who stated that Kirk would destroy his own career by crediting the true screen writer.
I cannot but applaud such courage.
