Be consistent. With all the "social networking" going on I'm often surprised by people who "connect" with you and you never hear from them. We all get busy with life and business but don't forget about the contacts you've made. If you're on a networking site send a little note before you request a connection. Drive by spamming is a sure way to guarantee failure. If you're on the receiving end of a request remember you don't have to accept. It's your business and your life.
