The major problem with seminars is they have become the codeword for advertising and marketing. True seminars are meant to provide information and to create knowledge for the participant. If you want to charge do it up front, don't hide a sales presentation in the format of a seminar. If it is going to be complimentary make it informative, not an info-mercial for a sale at the end of the seminar. There is too much abuse in this form of marketing and the consumer public is becoming aware and sensitive to it. Giving away steak dinners for a commercial will not work anymore, let's use a little more creativity and actually provide value to the people you want to promote.
