Hi Sherry...
I'd advise you not to pay to be listed in search engines.
As stated in Yahoo's $299, 7 day review offer "Use of the Yahoo! Directory Submit program does not ensure that your submission will be accepted for inclusion in the Yahoo! Directory".
I've managed to get my website(www.garaughty.com) listed in the top 10 search results in over 50 categories on Google, Yahoo, etc... by niche marketing myself.
For example, go to Google.com and type in... abstract realism,
out of over 4 million listings I show up as #1
Or on Yahoo.com type in... abstract paintings and prints,
this weekend I was #3 out of over 2 million listings.
This isn't an accident. I positioned myself in narrow niche markets of the art world and over time it really paid off for me. No need to pay for it, just a little time, work and clever marketing.
I'm too busy right now to get into details but since I teach this to other business owners I network with, I'll be putting together a few pages of info soon and will gladly send them to you if you'd like a better(and free) way to get listed in search engines.
