You can't blame the market, Lamar. It's a waste of good energy. Saying you have to get people to change their opinion and attitude is obvious - but it's the job of a good marketer to do that.
I have a very good friend who is a distributor for an MLM company that manufactures essential oils which are really amazing products when you start learning about them. She asked me if I would like to get emails with info about the products and how they're used. I said sure. I sometimes get four emails a day from her about the oils - and as much as I love her - it's just way too much. I've gotten to the point where not only do I not read 'em - I don't even open them. I'm ready to tell her to take me off the list.
That guy who just deletes your emails - it's probably because he's busy and stressed and he just doesn't see the value.
The answer? Compelling headlines, compelling content and perhaps less frequency.
