Paul,

When you catch the "vision" to this it is really remarkable. Think of having your own wifi hot spot as having your own web site - with a very important twist. You now have a guaranteed audience that could include repeat visitors on a daily basis. Why? Because you are providing a FREE service which is actually beneficial to the people's business. The public is not dumb. They will figure it out. They will come to your location because it is actually in their best interest to do so. And, each time they come to use your hot spot, what happens? They meet your business in order to get Internet access. But, that is not all. You have a "footprint" that so-and-so used your hot spot. Yes, at the end of the month, you will have stats on your customer traffic at the hot spot. You don't get that with a newspaper, radio or TV promotion. But, you get that included in the price for this wifi hot spot. Yes, you can actually tell whether or not the hot spot is attracting an audience. You may even be able to identify your audience members. I think such feedback is important, don't you? After all, this feedback can assist you in determining how you might want to design a future ad. Remember, you can change your ad once-a-month at no additional cost.

Keep in mind that you might want to simply have a splash page ad at a storefront that already has a lot of traffic. Or, add that storefront to the promotion you are doing via your vehicle. That is another option available to you.

Both Starbucks and McDonalds have been wifi hot spots. I know Starbucks charges for Internet access. I do not know if McDonalds does or not. But, the reason it is offered at all is because wifi drives traffic.

Well, imagine if the word got out that where your vehicle was seen parked, wifi was freely available? Wow! I think that would draw a lot of attention and end up being very beneficial for your business. In terms of advertising costs, it sure beats any other option available for a small business that is serious about its growth.
