Hello, My name is Steve and along with my wife, Jamie, run a website called Helpformommy.com. The website is a fast, free, and safe alternative to Craigslist with lots of interactive capability, including instant text messaging.
Over the last couple of years we've built up quite a database of approximatly 2,000 users. We're just starting to realize the importance of reaching inside and building on those relationships. Today, in less than one hour, we were able to find very well qualified "Mother's Helper" for a lady who is going to Ojai from Carmel for the weekend, needing someone to watch her kids in a hotel. Thats a true testimate to our claim of working fast. The website can be used by all for free. We do accept donations.
Jamie and I have reached the end of the amount of resources available to push this much needed website into our hurting economy.
In church today I heard a story of a lady that talked to one of our church counselors. She told him that she lost her job a couple of weeks ago, and she began to weep like a baby. The minister/counselor said that the incident has stayed on his mind, and if he could, he would have not let her leave the building without a job in tow.
We feel frustrated to have such a resource in hand, but have only limited resources for getting the word out. Thats where we now stand; but our hope and efforts remain secure.
