I defense of some of Lamar's Points.

I know Squidoo Lenses work.
Especially the SquidZip options,
since they are ZipCode Driven.
Locals will support a modest ad in your lens
and they are easy to Promote and utilize SEO.

In the past 45+ years I have and do effectively
use almost all Advertising Media, Print, radio,
TV, Direct Mail, Calling leads
and now for past 5 Years,
the Internet.

Well written
Small Classified
Targeted ads
have always been successful, regarding ROI

I have a $29/month Ad I run in a "throwaway,
which has never returned less than $500/month net.
Very Narrow Market, but it reminds the regulars
and brings in a few NEW customers a month.

I have shared it with those in larger
Population Densities and their return is
coincident to their Cost of ad.
They Pay More but get More..
