Just tonight I went into a bookworm network here at ryze to recommend a book I liked to someone who asked for recommendations.
When I got there, a post caught my eye and I clicked on it. What a mistake. It was an angelfire "free" site. Now, that would not be so bad but this lady was claiming to be an author. OK, I guess she was, and has two books published.
The site was atrocious. All centered everything with a black "twinkling stars" background and the entire time I was trying to read the very hard to read text - pop, PoP, POP went my pop-up blocker. And of coure there were two big "flashy" banners at the top of that interferring with my concentration and focus, which should have been on the text.
Between the flashy banners and the constant popping - I finally just blipped myself off the site. After leaving however, there was quite a hesitation in my computer. More pop-ups or pop-unders or something was jamming up it's brain.
I HATE those kinds of sites and avoid them at all costs. I would not recommend to anyone to use a free site. I am so sorry to poo-poo your idea, that it is a good idea, to get something for free.
The result of my mishap by clicking on a that link?
I did not get to read the text. I do not know what her book was about. I do not even know the title of her book. I got peeved. My computer got peeved. I remembered the reason for always rejecting "free" stuff. I decided I did not like HER.
Just a human "bean" reaction. I could not help myself.
So, as my little story shows, be careful, you could turn people off without even a hint as to "why".
My humble OH-pinion and .02 worth which probably is not worth a plug nickel.
Have a great and blessed night.
Eileen :)
