Is Social Location Gaming Making Burglary Easier?

I was first informed by a friend and then actually read for myself online that Twitter, Google Buzz and Foursquare encourage burglary. When people annouce online that they are away from home, they set themselves up for a burglary.

Is this really something we should be concerned about? Or, is this really overblown extremism at work?
