Reg Charie

In the overall scheme of things in the hosting world, I am but a very small player.

There are a lot of very good hosting companies that can add more space, bandwidth, at a lower price than I can.

However there is one thing they can't give that I do and that is the level of service I offer.

All my hosting clients have instant messenger access to me and I am online from 8 am until 11 pm Pacific Time (GMT-8)

Once you get a web hosting server you are usually on your own when it comes to figuring things out.
If you have ever opened a cPanel server administration page for the first time, you are bound to have information overload.

Aside from the 30 pieces of information on your server in "General account information" and "Server information", there are 36 icons that you will use for configuring your server.

Most of the information will not mean much to you.
You really do not need to know the "Kernel Version" for instance but you should be using the Mail, Webmail, File Manager, Backups, Web/FTP stats, Index Manager, IP Deny Manager, and you might want to use some of the rest to install a Bulletin Board, Chatroom or Secure Certificate.

In upcoming articles I will be outlining each of the options and discussing their uses and importance.

Should anyone want to chat, join this network and I will enable my instant messenger info on my Ryze home page for you.
