I do not reveal my sources, though I may start writing more about them.
@Kathy, There are a few classes of Twitter use. The raw Twitters that post on Twitter. They will continue to do so for free, but will be limited to X posts a day.
The people who have built a business using the API's. These are the items on the applications page or sites that do calls to the Database itself.
Now what happens if using Twirl costs money. Many people who use it for free will stop.
Lets look at other ways to monetize the traffic. Ads, well Twitter is an ad killer, so that would be ironic. Or what about allow others to contact people following someone. That would get you the spam filled world of Linkdin and other places.
