The whole point of a promotional item is to trigger a favorable association in its possessor's mind. When they look at the doo-dad, they think of you.
What does your target market like? Mine tends to like key fobs and patches. T-shirts are also popular, especially if they have "rat-fink" type characters, but that's just among my target. Yours will have different tastes.
