Oct 16, 2003 2:37 pm PayPal vs. Merchant Account
Wei Yang
Does anyone have any experience in using PayPal to accept payments vs. actually having a merchant account and taking the payments in house? The reason I'm asking is because PayPal can be a great resource for web site owners but they can seem cumbersome to the web users since they take the payment process outside of your page. Also, if a user does not already have a PayPal account, they would have to register twice, (once on your site, a second time to setup a PayPal account).

I was just wondering if upgrading from the PayPal solution has decreased the abandon rate for anyone and if the business has gotten more sales because of the reduced confusion?
