That's an interesting point. I think if we are the ones who have the ability to make that decision it would be a different story, but ultimately it's up to the business to decide if it's OK to ignore (or pay less attention to) a small percentage of their audience that could be potential customers. This is a battle that is almost impossible to win since marketers would never be OK with a B&W text version of a site and businesses don't care about changing the mind of it's users about their browser... they just want them to buy their product(s). I think it's definitely more of an issue with e-commerce sites. I had a similar discussion awhile back on a board about this same issue (http://www.web-graphics.com/mtarchive/000829.php).
