Hi together,
an upcoming project will include, on customers request, focus groups to improve usability of software and services.
While conducting focus groups is fun and interesting for me, it is not in line with my experience what has the biggest impact on improving usability. There contextual inquiry and usability testing delivered better results for me.
However, since the client fancies them, there will be focus groups.

My question: what is your experience with focus groups and what structure/techniques/approaches worked best towards usable usability results.
