The "Golden Rule" strikes again, "He with the gold makes the rules." :-(

My advice: Run these "Focus Group" sessions along the lines of participatory design rather than more common "town hall" focus groups. With participatory design you will satisfy the patron and capture real UI data. One technique for participatory design is "The Bridge"--
