eBay seeks a Senior UI Designer with a successful track record of web UI design and leadership experience. Job Description This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior UI Designer to join eBay's User Experience & Design team (UED). The UED team works with the user community and business to understand needs and opportunities. We design global products that serve users and exceed business goals. We create a long-term user experience vision that addresses current and future needs and opportunities. We also initiate strategies that move us toward that vision. At eBay, our goal is to provide a global online trading platform where practically anyone can trade practically anything with anyone else around the world.

At eBay, you will:
* Create world-class designs that benefit eBay's 114 million users. * Enable eBay buyers to find just the items they want out of the over 1 billion items available per year. (eBay users conduct over 200 million searches per day.) * Enable eBay sellers to run their business successfully and effectively. (In the US alone, over 400,000 people make their living selling on eBay.)

Specific responsibilities for the Senior UI Designer include:
* Defining long-term user experience strategies. * Presenting new product ideas and strategies to the exec staff. * Presenting designs in progress to the exec staff and user community. * Leading the design team to explore design options. * Creating and applying design frameworks that consider the entire eBay site and user experience. * Setting the design direction for your projects. * Writing product specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.), which engineering uses to build the product. * Working with engineering to ensure the product is built according to your specs. * Working with Product Manager to evaluate product success and next steps. * Mentoring and guiding more junior designers. * Identifying and leading process improvements that make the UI Design group more efficient and effective. * Contributing to a culture of innovation and teamwork with measurable positive results. * Representing eBay in the broader design community through conferences talks, papers, networking, etc.

Qualifications:
* At least 7 years of professional design experience. * Bachelor's or higher degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, or related field or equivalent. * Strong leadership skills. * Excellent understanding of user experience design for the Web, demonstrable design skills, and ability to show relevant work. Experience launching products for consumer web sites. * Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups, to all levels of the organization, as well as outside of the organization. * Proven ability to work and coordinate with multiple groups, including business owners, product managers, creative designers, usability engineers, software developers, and senior executives.
