I've used Camtasia on two projects recently to develop online training. If you are just recording a procedure with voice comments, it is great--perfect for usability testing.
It gets clunkier when you want to add on-screen comments, call-out labels, etc. because you have to add these things in real time while recording. This forces you to record very short pieces, stopping and starting alot. DemoQuick is better, I think, if you want to add the on-screen comments, etc., because you record the procedure all at once, then go back and add labels and comments after the fact in whatever frames you want.
Both programs make it easy to pack their files in a compressed format in an .exe file. Camtasia has no licensing restrictions; DemoQuick does have restrictions.
