Hi Vikram,
If you want to get more unique daily visitors to your site it's going to take more than a word of mouth campaign. There are a few crucial things you should do to promote your site yourself without investing a lot of money:
1. Search engine ranking - make sure your meta tags are in order and start submitting to search engines. (TIP: Try and get your site submitted to DMOZ.com - this really improves ranking on Google)
2. Link popularity - you should be trying to get as many sites as possible to link to your site. This is huge, not only for spreading the word, but it also boosts your ranking. You should (and most likely do) know your user group inside and out. Which means that you know where your users are online, what groups/communities they belong to, etc.
3. Newsletters - you should never spam anyone, but it's important to send at least a monthly newsletter to existing members for customer retention. In the newsletter you should always promote "spreading the word" to new prospects.
Everything I've mentioned takes some effort on your part and it doesn't happen over night. Since I'm mainly a usability/IA person I really can't offer the best advice in these areas, but I can refer you to a good friend and colleague who does search engine optimization and internet marketing, Wil Reynolds (http://www.ryze.com/go/wilreynolds).
