To add to what Sid has said, I think it's high time that the judiciary lays down a verdict that says that all conditions of a contract be specified in advance and that "conditions apply" cannot be used to legally hide when companies don't adhere to their promises.

For a proper legal contract, both parties should agree to the terms, and this is only possible if these terms are specified in full somewhere. Allowing for "conditions apply" clauses without having any place to read these "conditions" lets them pull these types of "bait and switch" tactics on consumers.
