I thought I'd sit back and see what great suggestions others posted, but it's been quiet here and didn't want you to feel all alone, so I'll offer you some of my insights.

I looked at your site and you may want to begin by adjusting the environment that is going to house your ezine- e.g. your website. Specifically:

a) buy a domain name and get off of cox.net free hosting. this will give you a more professional image and folks who do hear about you are likely to take you more seriously and your ezine as more of an authoritative publication. Doing this is less than a $15 investment. Go to http://1and1.com and check out their rates.

b) use a web-based free ezine host such as http://EZezine.com rather than the free cgi script you are using. Again, this will increase your professional appearance as well as give you reliable hosting for your ezine.

c) try to find a webdesigner to remodel your page. Again, image will boost subscriptions. While your site isn't awful, I've seen worse, it can certainly use an upgrade. Included in this is your "affiliate" page that is jumbled and has a bunch of broken images.

All of these upgrades are pretty simple and either free or inexpensive and will result in a huge upgrade of your image. People are wary of signing up for "sketchy" looking things, even if they are free.

My guess is that you started this ezine to help folks with a specific medical condition as well as develop a network of folks who see your site as a "go-to" hub for information while potentially selling them various things that may support them in their challenges.

If so, don't you want to look professional? Upgrade the look and management of your site, subscription forms, etc. then begin focusing on promoting your ezine. Until this upgrade has been done, I wouldn't put a lot of energy into building your list yet.

Once you've done your upgrade, there are a zillion ways to begin to build your list. Check back in for ideas when you're ready.

Hope this helps,
lisa
