| I'll go ahead an introduce myself. I'm the moderator of this network. I started it to help lao wai like myself meet other lao wai in China. (I'm in a small city with less than a half-dozen foreigners.)
Here are the answers to the questions I posted on the network home page:
1. Where am I?
I'm in Liaoyang, Liaoning, about 2 hours south of Shenyang. It's a tiny city (by Chinese standards) of 600,000. There's nothing to do here.
2 & 3. How long have I been here and what do I do?
I arrived in November, 2003. I'm on a six-month contract teaching English at Talenty Elementary. So far, I love it here and plan to stay in China, though I haven't decided whether to stay in Liaoyang or move on to another city.
4. How long do I plan to stay?
Forever. :)
Other info: I write a quasi-blog about my adventures on an email list. You can find it here. As mentioned in my profile, my most exciting adventure so far was when I got naked with my boss within 12 hours of arriving in China (message #12).
