Say it isn't so!!! If bleach can "eat the hoses and pipes" of your toliet, what do you think it can do to your body? Not to mention, using bleach in the toliet, or any other place where it is flushed down drains, is only adding to the insurmountable amount of toxins in our water.
Chlorine bleach is respiratory irritant to the mucous membranes and lungs. Chlorinated liquids burn the skin and many fabrics. As little as 3.5 ppm can be detected as an odor.
