Honoring Loved Ones and Healthy Living - You Can Make a Difference! |

Marilyn, and FTTP members,
I wanted to update you on my progress with the I Create My Body Program. As you know, I had always enjoyed a slim and active body until a few years ago when my mom, Jackie, passed away from breast cancer. I felt lost without my mom, and slipped into a sort of hibernation state. I was not as active, and over the past two years I put on about 25 extra pounds. When I heard about the ICMB program I knew it was my chance to get back to my real self.
The ICMB program produced instant results - I feel more connected to my husband, I have more energy to play with my kids, and I feel increasingly active every day.
I am happy to announce that an opportunity for both fitness and breast cancer prevention came "out of the blue." Two sisters - one who is living with advanced stage breast cancer - are flying from Buffalo to Charlotte, NC in the upcoming "Avon Walk for the Cure" this month. They invited me to join, and my stepdaughter Hannah and I will be walking 39.3 miles (a marathon and a half) in honor of my mom, and to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Our team name is "Jackie's Juggs," and we are wearing t-shirts signed by our loved ones and those who share our fond memories of mom. Each walker must commit to raising $1800 to participate. With our online donations, and checks we have received, we are about 25% of the way there. I am amazed at the generosity of others - I sent one email to a group of friends and acquaintances, and within one hour I had raised over $300.00!!!!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and if you or anyone you know supports this cause, or might want to read about our journey, please pass this on.
This is the link to my fundraising page:

The walk is October 25th and 26th in Charlotte, NC.
Thank you Marilyn, for your ongoing support and your profound teachings,
Alison
