Thanks for sharing about your mother. I, too, have had a similar experience with my own mother and used that to create the MOST AWESOME relationship with my own children, who are now grown and following their dreams -- No Matter What!
My daughters and I are very close, although we live far away from each other.
My mother is still alive, barely, and in this transitional time in her life, I just visit for a few minutes here and there and send her love. I know she did the best she could with the capacity she had and she will have opportunities to grow in the next dimension.
She has caused unbelievable problems for herself and close family members as a result of decisions she made over the last few years. I have to constantly rise above the anger and frustration and just do what needs to be done in the best way available to me. I constantly remind myself that it is her life, not mine and I can only do what I can do.
