BMI Recording Workshop Highlights October Entertainment & Media Industry Events |

VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" will be held October 3 in New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom as a live taping with a scheduled broadcast date of October 12. A Screening Party Benefiting the VH1 Save the Music Foundation will be held at Lotus in New York City, October 3. BMI London Awards honors recording artist Van Morrison, October 5, as a BMI ICON at their gala awards and dinner in Dorchester. Durango Songwriter’s Expo in Durango, opening October 7-9, gives attendees a chance to talk with and pitch their songs to music industry professionals and successful songwriters. A four-day rock n' roll sea cruise to Grand Cayman will be hosted by BMI departing Miami October 7. The Hollywood Film Festival & Conference opening October 12 in Hollywood features networking with industry veterans and an Awards Gala Ceremony with VIP pass. A BMI Recording Workshop for those recording an independent album project, takes place October 13 in Nashville. Woodstock Film Festival has films, panels, concerts, and special events in Woodstock, NY and the neighboring towns of Rhinebeck and Hunter, opening October 13. American Choreography Awards go on at Orpheum Theatre, Los Angeles, October 17. 44th International Confederation of Societies of Authors & Composers (CISAC) Congress gets underway in Seoul, October 18, with conferences followed by the CISAC General Assembly meeting. Exhibitors showcase the latest in streaming and digital media web technologies during Streaming Media West, opening October 26 in Santa Clara. Clifton Davis will host Gospel Superfest, a 2-day musical spectacular in New York City at the Christian Cultural Center.
