Brent Mather Swan		Hey everyone, I’m writing today about a jazz club in Burbank called Chadney’s. Many of you may have seen it as you drove past the NBC studios on Olive Ave. It was opened as a steak restaurant in 1973 and was operated until the late 1990’s when it was closed for repairs and has remained so. It seems that poor management was responsible for a decline of the property. Apparently there were some failed attempts to turn it into a fast food restaurant and there was the dubious “sports bar” era. Here is a review of Chadney’s during its prime: “One of the Southland's jazz strongholds, Chadney’s has remained a cornerstone of the Burbank community for 27 years. The dark, rustic room is accented with antique books and wine racks, surrounding immaculate red booths and tables set with earthy china. Premiere musicians come here to play their hearts out, while customers come to enjoy the sweet sounds and feast on Chadney's classic Continental steakhouse fare.” I am corresponding with the owner and am gathering support for a grand reopening of the restaurant. We would like to relaunch the restaurant in it’s original spirit. Think a modern “Casablanca”. Currently the building and lot is being used as a parking lot. This is a terrible waste of property and the abuse of a staple of our community. That’s right, the community does have a right to ask that the property is redeveloped. We already have the support of several Industry professionals who have fond memories of the restaurant and are willing to throw their support behind this project.
