Two ways of looking at this -

1) How do we fix the problem (return to status quo. ie. a more stable greenback)
2) How do we fix the problem (reconsider the objectives of money, the requirements of the objectives, and the solutions that support the requirements)

The first way may still apply, if in taking the second approach indicates money is the best way of meeting the objectives.
