Hi sue:
Male here. In response to your question.
What are women afraid of when they start smiling from the start? That piece of cheesecake stuck on their teeth?
Or the Spinach Dip hanging out of their mouth?
A cordial smile never hurt anyone.
It doesn't matter if male or female.
A smile in many ways is the first thing most people see when meeting another.
A smile lets one say hello I am one worth talking to.
If I walk into a room and all the ladies are not smiling, then I feel that I stumbled onto the worlds ugliest face contest.
A smile in a network offline simply means Hello, if guys or women have issues with that, then maybe they need to do a soul search on their own methods of introduction.
Now just do not smile at the first guy you come in contact with while in jail. That is a sure fire way to meet someone in a not so good way.
