IMMEDIATE RELEASE - LOS ANGELES, CA - The Sony Urban/GigAmerica Hip Hop R&B Nationwide Showcase is coming to town (Saturday, July 24th 2004 at the world-famous Key Club!) and Planet Shark Productions (who's producing the LA event) is currently accepting additional showcase sponsorships and goodie bag products. A portion of the LA sponsorship proceeds will be donated to an established minority non-profit (TBA) and all LA sponsorship opportunities include a concentrated promotional initiative before, during, and after the event (10-12 month minimum).
Who: Sony Urban, home to many of the world’s most popular hip-hop and R&B performers including Destiny’s Child, Beyonce, Bow Wow, Kelly Rowland, Ginuwine, Jagged Edge, L’il Flip, Xzibit, Nas and Amerie, has launched a nationwide search for America’s hottest undiscovered rap, hip-hop and R&B talent. The label (and partner GigAmerica) is sponsoring a 25-city showcase series in various U.S. markets – including this Los Angeles event – with all showcases hosting up to 30 acts per night - whereby the top finalists will receive a Sony Urban demo deal.
What: Sony Urban/GigAmerica Hip Hop R&B Showcase (Los Angeles) - The showcases will be co-produced by local hip-hop promoters in each market with Planet Shark holding the exclusive rights to LA/Hollywood.
