Job Description Business Manager
Position Summary:
This position is responsible to the President and Vice-President (& Chief Operating Officer) (collectively "officers of the company"). The Manager will work closely with the Officers of the Company and take direction from them. The Business Manager will be responsible for overall management of the office policies, procedures and interacting with the Vice-President of Technology and Technical Managers to facilitate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the company. The Business Manager will identify, plan and implement the objectives set by the Officers of the Company to ensure the organization’s overall effectiveness.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of all office policies and procedures. • Responsible for coordinating with and assisting the Vice-President of Technology and the Technical Managers for their effective functioning and assist the staff for daily operation of organization. • Responsible for being a spokesperson for the company, including a high level marketing role. • Manage and order supplies and services within the budget guidelines of the organization. • Provide guidance and expertise to staff in resolving office related issues (non-technical) or concerns. • Develop, implement and conduct office staff and Trainee meetings as needed in coordination with the HR Manager. • Design and implement staff communications and feedback programs in order to ensure ongoing, positive up and down communications throughout the organization. • Delegate responsibility to appropriate staff to ensure that the day-to-day functions and assigned projects are carried out. • Personally manage the non-technical staff who are responsible for the specific tasks, assignments, programs & events. • Responsible for encouraging the growth and assisting in the evaluation process of the staff.
Job Requirements:
Education: Minimum requirement: 4 years of college and degree. Master in Business Administration preferred. Additional degree in IT is a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in IT or a Technology related company. US healthcare experience is a plus.
Skills: Must have strong communication skills – both verbal and written. Strong leadership, management and organizational skills, as well as understanding of the functions of IT industry. An ability to integrate and harmonize diversified functions between the staff. Effective managerial skills. Understanding, influencing and serving others are important attributes in this position. The ability to select, develop and motivate people and create a positive work and volunteer environment. The ability to resolve problems quickly and effective and determining appropriate courses of action, which are then reported to the Officers of the Company. Must display a high degree of emotional maturity while keeping difficult situations in proper prospective. Must be flexible and have well developed interpersonal skills. Must excel in personal interactions with the staff and volunteers at all levels of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the non-technical Staff; Be a liaison with technical staff.
Equipment to be used: Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, copier, telephones, etc.
Working Conditions: Occasionally called upon to work overtime or odd schedules. Works in a typical office setting
