Hi CNK,

Hope every member is doing good,

Would like to know on the common standards of writing the Registration No. in the vehicles,

1. Can the registration no. be written only on the regional languages? Or should it be written with English alpha numeric characters?

2. Are the rules same all over India?
A small flashback...Last saturday I was riding at Outer ring road, an autorickshaw hit a motorist sideways which made him to fall, vehicles behind him managed to stop

without causing a fatal accident. The autorickshaw went on without stopping thought of making note of the registration no. of the vehicle, which was in Kannada. Was

helpless since I dont know Kannada. (Jilaebi ya pichi potta mathiri irunthathu )Hence the thought, what does the rule book say ? Registration no in a more common language will serve the purpose. Senior SFji, Charuji may throw some light in this.
