Well ... I am with him on the religion / belief system.

When you start traveling to other countries you realize that each region has its own sense of what's appropriate and what's not besides, of course, who is correct and who is not and which religion is the right one to follow, etc.

Live and let live is a better policy to adopt without insisting everyone should follow your line of thinking (which may be correct for you and wrong for many others)

Finally, when we kick the bucket I doubt if any one of us really has a clue what happens, barring, of course for the various religious customs and practices being followed across the world more as a way to deal with the grief of loosing a loved one and nothing more.

None of the so called pundits, purohits, evangelists or mullahs have any first hand experience of what can or will happen when our body ceases to do the daily functions. Generations together we keep repeating the same thing to our children in the belief that what we have been told is unquestionably correct. Everything is hearsay :)

A recent visit to the Planetarium with my kids served as a further eye opener when we realize that our entire planet is but a tiny dot amongst the innumerable number of planets, stars, nebulae and galaxies. Apparently, our "observable" universe is only 14 billion light years old. Some of the light from distant regions are yet to reach us!

And here we are fight and argue over some vague religious belief which is really of no consequence in the larger scheme of things. The limited time we have must be utilized for more memorable stuff (atleast for our near and dear ones since we may not be around to share the nostalgia :)
