I would like to know how folks here feel about desktop-to-desktop video conferencing vs. web conferencing. I downloaded vSkype, which is a free download to check out its desktop-to-desktop capabilities. I was impressed, but not fully satisfied as the sound was not always there and the video was somewhat delayed in comparison to the audio. But, this was after-all a free program which could accomodate up to 200 people, supposedly. I have also done web conferences and fold those services lacking as well. However, with the web conferences I was always limited as to what I could show online. Plus, I had to upload the file to the website in order to show it. Then, there was the problem of people waiting in line to be able to ask a question. There just was not a free flow of information back-and-forth. On the other hand, with vSkype, I could share any file I wanted with my audience by just opening it up on my desktop. No uploading required.
Any comments on this?
