Lamar,
Don't be too tough on the product because of the website. Chances are, the product is coming via clickbank, an affiliate program where all affiliates have access to literally 10,000's of products. Many don't have a website, or want one. They may be doing it spare time for a few extra bucks, whatever. Anyway, the method of sale is coming from the affiliate, not the author. These mini-sites, as they are known are churned out by a piece of software called 'vendomatic'. The code for the book is entered and the pages are produced in seconds. The format is ensure they are viewable on all browsers and resolutions. Whilst I like to present my eBooks on my own fashioned pages wqith my logo etc, on my own site, I am doing this full-time. I can understand why some are happy to use this method, whilst I understand your reticence. Like anything, seek independent opinion of the book offered, but in this case, don't put too much stock on the sales presentation.
