Here's a site that I came across that really gets my goat.

This site markets itself as the "Next Big Thing" in Internet marketing.

It has the typical schtick that shows the Internet growth chart and why you should be involved with their "Revolutionary" marketing program.

Folks, this is the same get rich quick stuff that's been around forever and a day.

The only way to make money on the Net is to find a product that converts well and then send lots of traffic to your website by whatever means available. And I mean LOTS.

When you consider that typical conversion rates are somewhere between 1-3 percent, you can see why you need TONS of traffic. Put another way, for every 100 people you send to your website you can only expect to realistically get 1 or 2 possibly 3 sales.

So the next time you see some fancy "Next Best Thing" marketing hype ask yourself "Yeah but how will people find my website?" Or better yet ask the people who set it up.

I'd put money on it that they say something like "That's your problem. We just provide the interface." If they can't answer that question in a positive and realistic way, this is not an opportunity for you.

Believe me folks, without traffic, you're dead in the water.

So focus your studies and efforts on finding out how to get as much traffic as you can. Everything after that is a cakewalk.
