Excellent points, Althea! The most important is "whatever works for you". We're so conditioned to looking for an out-of-the-box solution, that we don't realize there are many "truths" out there.
Look on store bookshelves...did you realize that Doctor Phil isn't the very first self-help guru? Or that there's more than 1 book on cold-calling techniques? How can they all be right?
You beat me to the punch on scripting and hiring someone else. But, of course, that assumes that phone calling is the only option. Couldn't Ron conduct teleclasses (or hire someone)? Couldn't he create strategic partnerships that might get him qualified leads? Couldn't he get referrals, instead of cold calls? Could he go direct mail? The possibilities are endless.
