While I have no problem with marketing obviously, I can find members who do what I need when I need that particular service without having to wade through the ads on a daily basis. I want information I can use to build my business. In reality, I'm less likely to hire someone if I've read their classified twenty times than I am if I've gotten to know them as a person through a group first.

I don't have a problem if you mention your services that address the topic being discussed, but something like - If you want bigger, better widgets, come see our web page - is inappropriate, IMHO. I'd rather people PM'ed folks with their pitches.
