Mar 13, 2004 4:18 am Response: What's a good Ryze post?
Sue T.

I think good posts come in many colors. Much like the rainbow which can be compared to the many people here on Ryze. The difference here is that I've been fortunate enough to have gotten some really great advise and made some good friends :) I'm getting off the point

When I first started here on Ryze I was muddled not sure what to do, my primary idea was to get clients. I may as well be honest right? Well, I have to say that I've gotten much more than that ... I've found support here that I didn't realize was possible. For that I thank the people whose posts were directly in response to something I was having difficulty, the PM's and e-mails at my business e-mail, and further for the posts I read when I just absorbed as opposed to responding here and in other networks.

I think Matt has a good idea here with regard to opening up a discussion and gathering input. A few well placed questions and some self disclosure to connect to one another helps as well. At least that is what I try to do when I make a post. Sometimes I may succeed sometimes I only convey my own personal opinion or obstacles that I am facing. What's in a post?

I used to say if you build it they will come :) I still meant that but I should explain the thought behind that statement. When a person builds something like a business or friendships or a network, it becomes a team ... to me anyway. A place where you can go for support or that little push we "all" need from time to time. I think posts should be how the individual perceives the initial question or the thought they have to share. The posting that I've seen the most which is most effective is when a group gets together and begins exchanging ideas supporting one another, sometimes by knocking the other person over the head and sometimes just by saying I've been there too ... So this is a tough question.

In summary? I think a good post is anything that brings people together, wakes them up, gets the juices flowing and filters through things to help each other or just listen. I hope I've been clear in how I've tried to describe what I talkin about (I have a head ache :) For me? Any post that shows people have a genuine interest in the other person? Is a good post .. here's to keepin it real.
