I got the CSM opportunity via a media lead sent to me (for free) by a PR person who I met because of my About.com gig, and I ran a couple of his articles and reviewed his book.

How: One of my co-authors, Donna Fisher, is a long-time supporter/friend of BNI and Dr. Ivan Misner. He's read our book, loves it, endorsed it, and has now put it up on their site.
And... I have a great turnout for my 6-week telecourse, "Virtual Handshakes: Building Quality Business Relationships Online".
How: I'm putting it on in conjunction with Stephanie Frank, who runs the Million Dollar Mastermind Network here on Ryze. We became friends very shortly after she joined Ryze. As far as promoting it -- no traditional advertising, just networking, our blog, and our newsletter. It's also going to be made into an audio product, so I'm getting double mileage out of the deal!
